District Administrations

The NUDEIL program is currently being implemented in the following four target districts:

Amuru District Local Government
Gulu District Local Government
Kitgum District Local Government
Oyam District Local Government

The District Engineering and Public Works, Financial Management, and Planning Offices within these districts are the main implementing partners for NUDEIL.  Leadership by local government officials such as the Office of the District Chairman (LC-V) and the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) also play important roles to ensure program success.

The District Administrations identify priority projects in consultation with the Central Government and lower Local Governments and communities.   Priority project proposals allocated under NUDEIL funding are sent to the NUDEIL Engineering Team for mapping, surveying, engineering design, Bill of Quantities development, and drafting of contract documents.

It is then the role of District Officials to identify competent contractors through a transparent procurement process and to award contracts in consultation with the NUDEIL team. The District Administration Officials also work closely with the NUDEIL engineers and finance team to supervise projects, pay contractors, and maintain completed projects.
